"A Christmas Carol" by David Redston

"One of the best shows I have seen in the past 30 years" - The Stage

Written by David Redston, who spent eight years as Michael Ball's music arranger, and has worked with Elaine Paige, Michael Crawford and Jerry Goldsmith among many others, this new production of Charles Dickens' fantastic story makes a brilliant alternative to panto next Christmas.

The original performance featured James Paterson [Phantom of the Opera, West End original cast] as the mean and miserly Scrooge, who is visited by four spirits who teach him that Christmas is a time of hope and goodwill.

This version features numerous character roles, has plenty for the chorus to do, and also has a few kids parts [Tiny Tim's "The Candle Song" is a definite tear-jerker!], making it ideal for amateur groups.

The set and costume requirements are not too extreme, and there is a choice of size for the band – either 5, 9 or 18 - making it a financially realistic production.

The first five confirmed productions of "A Christmas Carol" will also benefit from a reduced royalty rate of just 10%!

The rights are owned by Ready Made Theatre Ltd, who specialise in material for children, but have some adult shows also available.

Contact them on 07725997078 for more information, or to order a FREE perusal copy of the script. Audio samples and more information are available on their website at www.readymadetheatre.com

Planning your Panto?

We may be approaching the end of the current cycle of seasonal pantomimes but it isn’t long until theatre companies are going to be deciding on what show to put on later in the year.

If you’re making this decision for your company, remember that NODA is here to help. NODA has been providing quality pantomimes to the amateur sector since the mid 1980s. In this time we have not only built a strong reputation for quality pieces of work but also a substantial repertoire of over 150 traditional titles, by the most popular authors in the business. Sample versions of each of our titles can be found on the NODA website at www.noda.org.uk in the ‘Panto’ section of the website in PDF format to view or print. Each sample contains approximately 60 - 80% of the original script and allows you to shortlist a number of hard copies for full perusal hire.

All of our pantomime titles are priced at £6.50 (exc.postage).

For pantomime enquiries, including licensing, contact Dale Freeman on 01733 374790 / dale@noda.org.uk
